When I was a young boy, my parents weren’t very big on religion. We didn’t ever go to church and they didn’t let us go. I was pretty in the dark about a lot of religious practices, so when I had a friend who was open about their religion I always picked their brain. One day, I asked my friend Julian (who was a catholic “Julian, what is a catholic confirmation?” He told me the story about how he got confirmed, and all I did was chuckle. I appreciated his knowledge, but to me it all sounded pretty silly. I suppose I still feel that way today.
